Though he occasionally refused to be called nor be addressed as a politician, the dictionary meaning of the word politician as derived from the word politics has stocked on him, to be one of Nigeria’s extraordinary Politician.
A politician that emerged from the private sector, having fulfilled the requisite requirements of life balancing in his successes as a businessman, may have earned for himself, some Attitudes, Discipline, Qualities, Values and every other quantitated characteristics that successfully survived his business, as a man that started from the scratch.
There wouldn’t be mincing of words to have classified Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, as an extraordinary politician. Haven studied his path ways on the corridors of power, deductions can be made to justify why Orji Kalu, can be said to be different from other politicians.
In the study of Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, from his services to the public as the executive governor of Abia State, lots could be derived from the roots, upon which he was seen fit, in the midst of elders to pilot the affairs of the state. Such trust, that came with the belief in his vision, championed by the youths, resulted to his delivery of people oriented services, that has seen him relevant in the sight of the people of Abia state.
In observations, the deterred financial capacity of the state, in the allocations from the federal government, as at 1999, been less than 70 billion naira and the mortgage for over six (6) years, of the revenue collection of Abia state, by the military administrators that handed over to the democratically elected civilian, the vision, as was in the blueprint of this young Governor of the late 90s and his resiliency to utilize the available allocation to the benefit of the people, still makes him relevant amidst the governors that had served Abia State.
Politicians, known locally for manipulations in their incoherent ways of discharging their duties, for what they were elected for, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu can in most possible ways, be separated from the circles of those politicians or probably be classified as a politician with a higher grade, operating from the most civilised point of views of world politics.
In analysing the local and most typical, disgustful attrition’s of most Nigeria politicians, that had repeatedly slowed down the infrastructural and socioeconomic growth in regards to delivering good governance, Senator Orji Kalu has upheld his promises, in all his elective positions of government.
He is a politician that goes beyond political party to seek solutions. Very rare but practically, he would always say, “ The moment I was elected and sworn in as a Senator, I was sworn in as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” So, it is of a good note for those we send to represent us to use every available apparatus of the government to the benefit of the people. That is what true governance is all about. All he does, directly returns glory of his political party, the APC.
In the case of those promises he made, during the 2019 general elections, may I bring to our reminder, his words as he said;
“Vote for me, vote for the APC Presidential candidate, Buhari, and vote for the House of Representatives, in doing this, you have secured the future of Abia North”
It was to so many people, that the words of Dr Orji Kalu, were mare gimmick and unpredictable. Today, Abia North is the ‘Jealous’ of other Senatorial Districts in this our Federal Republic of Nigeria. This was possible because the people, followed the words of Orji Kalu, as he told them to always vote three (3) times for his party the APC, on the day of the Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representative elections.
2023, is here with yet another opportunity for Abia North to consolidate one the vision of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, by doing what he’ve always requested of us, in Abia North. Voting three (3) times for his political party the APC, is what is required to sustain what we have seen, around us that is making us, the talk and envy of other senatorial Districts. Our ability to deliver these three (3) vote points, would take Abia North, to a different level and standard of both Human and infrastructural developments.
