A civil society group, SaveNigeriaNow, has challenged the credibility of the ongoing 2023 NigeriaDecide directional poll, circulating in the media.
In a statement made available to the public, the convener Miss Rose Ikpe, Said that such polls will rather lead Nigerians astray than give a direction, following the psychological effects of its wrong reflections with its outcome on the voters.
Miss Ikpe, also addressed in Abuja, that, over 60% of the nations voting population are not online to participate in such arrangements, saying;
“It’s already of public knowledge, the said NigeriaDecide directional poll, which is in circulation. Such a poll, is dubious in the sense that, it can never reflect true reality. With our findings, ‘one person with 10, 20 or more SIM cards with different phones, can successfully vote for a candidate. It was also observed that of so many other irregularities, which makes it not a credible approach to giving Nigerians directions.
“We have over 60% of the voting population, that are not interested in the internet, some are not even interested in what you’re saying about a directional poll, all they know is that on that day, they will come out and vote their choice. So tell me how helpful the online directional poll is?
“2023 elections are beyond unscrupulous directional polls, that does not validate the reality on ground. The grasses will no longer suffer the fights of the elephants. If you’re a political elephant and you made the grass to be fertile, the grass will respect you, but, if you’re such that doesn’t want the grasses to survive, you’ll have yourself to blame! That’s 2023 directional focus for every politician in any political party.
“Any political party nor campaign organizations that disassociated themselves from such online polls, have done well in the interest of their supporters. They’ve again scored political points by not standing by the conception of such incredible and derailing online polls, irrespective of the facts that some of the campaign organizations, their candidates are on the lead, in the said poll.
“Nigerians does not have to bother themselves over any directional poll, the manipulations on that platform can not justify victory for any of the candidates. All candidates should tell Nigerians why they should be voted, if we’re convinced, by actions, words or integrity, that they won’t make us suffer for another four(4) years, we can then give ourselves a direction. She said.
