Following the recent outburst of the Labor Party senatorial candidates in Abia North, Nnamdi Iro Orji, popularly known as OPOTOYOM, who admonished that Orji Kalu should step aside for younger politicians to carry on with the affairs of the District at the Senate, concerned Abia north’s , a lecturer, had reprimanded him, saying that the senatorial ambitions of Nnamdi Iro, does not sublime with the quest of the people of Abia North.
In a statement by Dr Osita Obasi, whom in his words lashed the senatorial candidate of the LP that there’s no politician in Abia north, among the candidates for the senate position in 2023, that can match what Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has done so far in just four years.
Speaking at a briefing, Dr Obasi said that other regions are praying for the personality of Orji Kalu to rescue them in their district and Abia North can not afford to give away a quality such as Orji Kalu, Saying;
“It is laughable how Mr Iro, (aka Opotoyom) is making himself a laughing stock of Abia North. One aspect I commend him for is his acknowledgment of the work done so far by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, which included the road leading to Nnamdi Iro’s house.
“What is not clear to me, are reasons Opotoyom, was deceived to vie for the Senate from Abia North, knowing how he fared during the 2019 elections when he contested to represent Ohafia/Arochukwu, (just two local government) in the green carpets.
“How can a man who can barely write correctly be a lawmaker? We sincerely hope Opotoyom does not take the red chambers to be a gathering of clowns nor take it to be a place of jamboree.
“I don’t think any good thinking Abia North man or woman would take Nnamdi Iro, seriously in the 2023 Senatorial elections. With the personality of a sitting Senator, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, whom had shown much working in all spheres of Abia North, the intention of Mr Nnamdi Iro for 2023, is dead on arrival.
“My candid advice to him is to face his ambitions, which many Abians, see to be mare popularity search against future, decades elections and avoid anything that could strain such popularity intentions he has chosen to build at the expense of his pocket, if he continue referring to a statesman like Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, as an old man.
“Where is Opotoyom going to get his votes from? On what grounds is he campaigning and how does he think he can unseat a Chief Whip of the Senate when people like Mao has dreadfully failed and unable to do?
“Lots of Senatorial Districts are praying to have the like of Orji Uzor Kalu to represent and do for them, what he’s doing in Abia North today, so, Abia North people are proud of Orji Kalu, a man who is tested and trusted can never be on reserve for a politician like Nnamdi Iro, such a thing is sacrilegious, unheard of and can’t happen in an environment of notable people of Abia North.
“This is really the time for Nnamdi Iro, to use his tongue to count his teeth on his mission, instead of open it for the public to smell the oozing of it. The fact still remain that Senator Orji has just started with Abia North, at the end of another four (4) years, with the pace he started with, Abia North, will be the dream place of every Igbo man.
“As for 2023 elections, Abians are all getting involved, since the electoral laws are committed to giving us credibility in the coming elections, Abia State will never remain the same again as the votes of the people for credibility must count and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu stands on that platform of credibility”. He noted.
