The Nativity of Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation (OUKF), a none governmental and none profit making organization in the year 2011, have in history, series of elastic philanthropic activities over the years, securing hope for the future in the rescue of human from life deficiencies while Keeping all hopes Alive.
The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, in affiliations with the United Nations, had lived up to expectations meeting the aims and objectives of the foundation in these years. OUK Foundation had provided for communities in the capacity of empowerments, given interest free loans to traders to revive their businesses, scholarships awarded in recent past, drawn by the foundation, an opportunity that brought about the dream fulfilments of many beneficiaries to study across the shores of Nigeria. The foundation had also embarked on skill acquisition programs, taken to rural communities to empower their creative mentality, enabling their productivity. the OUKF had given also, bags of fertilizers and free palm seedlings to farmers, free medical outreach, peace initiatives programmes, youth empowerment summits, cultural/tourism promotion activities, and other social investment programmes in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Agenda 2030.
In this year 2021, having the Covid-19 catastrophe that gave and still giving every living human the heartbreak in health and economic breakdown, The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation started her agenda for the year on the 4th through the 9th day of January 2021, giving to communities food items such as bags of rice, yams, cows, goats with the addition of cash for other spices. Some of the benefited communities included Ibinaukwu, Amaofufe, Amankalu, Amaukwu, Amakpo, Ibinanta, Eziama, Agbo, Umuisi, Amaiyi, Ohumola, Okafia, Amaorji and beyond. This was a good move by the Founder of the OUK Foundation, to cushion the Hunger that came with the unprepared and unforeseen hardship within the wave of the Covid-19 that left many households in distress.
The foundation moved further to remember the wives of our fallen hero’s , at the fourteen brigade barracks in Ohafia. The foundation, through the founder Dr Orji Uzor Kalu gave much relief to the wives of the Nigerian Army that lost their breadwinners in the cause of securing our nation. These women received bags of rice on the 12th of January, with cash donations to keep their heart at rest for a while, as the Covid continue to threaten the history of Man on earth.
The commitments to resuscitate lives and the repositioning of human downtime to the beauty of life’s expectations, begot the need to elaborate the vision of the foundation in combined efforts towards community services needed allover the world in fighting this deadly diseases, Covid-19.
Preventions they say, is better than cure; with the ill wind of the 4th wave of this dreadful virus, as it is thus, ravishing one of the most populated nations in the world (India), Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation was on a two days outreach to equip Nigerians, so, they could be fore armed.
As organized by the foundation program manager, Mr Iheaka Iheaka and executed by the foundation team and volunteers, through the certification of the executive secretory, Rev. Mrs Jemima Ola Kalu, the flag off for a covid-19 sensitization and the distributions of the virus’s preventive kits saw the Nigeria correctional center Kuje Abuja and some markets in the capital city, benefit from this two days outreach of the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, 19th and 20th, in the month of May 2021.
The OUKF was received at the Correctional center Abuja by the custodial in charge, DCC Agada Gabriel who received the items unbehalf of the inmates of Kuje.
In Utako, Kubwa and Nyanya markets respectively, the market executives received these items to be distributed to the marketers. The market executives were delighted to be remembered by the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation.
Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, playing key role in her contribution to nation building, which is the prime of every good citizen.
