Elder statesman and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince B.B. Apugo has blasted former Senate President, Ken Nnamani over poor representation of the party in the Southeast region.
Apugo spared no words as he berated the former Senate President for throwing spanners into the wheels of the party’s fortunes in the Southeast. According to him rather than assume the role of an elder statesman Nnamani has subjected himself into an errand boy to Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma and Business Mogul, Sir Emeka Offor.
According to a recent incident Nnamani,a member of the APC national Caretaker Committee headed by Governor of Yobe State, Mallam Mai Mala Buni was in Abia State to monitor the ongoing APC registration/ membership revalidation.
The former Senate President had arrived Apugo’s house in company of Chairman of Abia APC National Membership Registration and Revalidation Committee, Ambassador Bala Mohammed Maigairi and Party State Chairman, Hon Donatus Nwankpa
This Newspaper reliably gathered that on a visit to Apugo’s palatial home in Umuahia on Saturday, Nnamani was denied entry on the instruction of Prince Apugo . It took the intervention of Ambassador Bala Mohammed Maigairi and Hon Donatus Nwankpa to allow Nnamani gain entrance to see Apugo.
On sighting Nnamani, Prince Apugo told him he is a traitor and chameleon who has sold his honor and respect in exchange for peanuts. Apugo questioned Nnamani’s prerogative of coming into Abia State to monitor the ongoing party registration/revalidation without informing the stakeholders of the party in the state.
In his words “You are so shameless that you no longer know protocols. How can you come into Abia to monitor the registration/ membership revalidation without informing any stakeholder of the party in the state.
What exactly have you come to do ? At 77 years, aren’t you tired of eye service ? I have even expected you to return to your village and encourage the younger ones to serve but instead you have turned to a houseboy to Governor Hope and Emeka Offor. Do you think the North doesn’t know all your games, they have no single respect for you because you are very selfish and shameless.” Prince Apugo said.
Also, Prince Apugo accused Nnamani of hijacking a slot reserved for Abia people in the Police Service Commission for his younger brother.
He noted that an Abia Man, late Sir Jombo-ofo occupied the position before his unfortunate demise and rather than replacing him with another Abia man to complete the tenure , Nnamani schemed and replaced him with his own brother, Onyemauche Nnamani. This Newspaper also gathered that Nnamani left shamelessly as Apugo ordered him out of his house .
