The Chief Whip Of The 9th Senate Appeared Before The Federal High Court, Abuja.
As upturned and ruled on by the Supreme court judgement on the fraud case filed against Dr Orji Kalu by the EFCC, the Federal high court on this day, 02/02/2021, had the first sitting on the retrial.
This day witnessed a motion filed by the Chief Whip, Dr.Orji Kalu, asking the Federal High Court to prohibit the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from retrying him on same alleged money laundering charges against him.
In this motion exparte moved before Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Abuja division of the Court, on Tuesday, Kalu, through his counsel, Prof. Awa Kalu (SAN), contented that having been tried, convicted and sentenced for the same charges FHC/ABJ/CR/56/ 2007 by Justice M.B. Idris, it will amount to double jeopardy if he is subjected to a fresh trial on same this same charge.
He is further seeking for an order prohibiting the Federal Republic of Nigeria, through the EFCC (her agent), her officers, servants, others agents, privies and any other person or bodies driving authority from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from retrying him on charge No. FHC/ABJ/CR/56/2007 between FRN vs Orji Kalu & 2 ors or any other charge based on the same facts de novo, there being no extant judgment and ruling of a competent court in Nigeria mandating same.
The case was adjourned to June 7 by Justice Ekwo for report on the situation.

Senator Kalu Fulfills Promise, Donates N10M For Building of Hostel For Abia Students
This was a promise made by the Chief whip of the 9th Senate, Dr Orji Kalu on the 25th of November 2020 to the Holy Rosary Girls Secondary school on the building of a modern hostel.
On this day, 03 February, 2021 the Chief whip Dr Orji Kalu delivered on his promises by releasing the sum of #10,000,000 ( ten million naira only) for the building of the hostel, just like he did, at the delivery of the sowing machines promised to support the school’s technical department.
This gesture shows immensely, how sacrosanct the value for education is, in the vision of the Chief whip of the 9th Senate Dr Orji Uzor Kalu.

The Chief Whip Celebrated In The Cake Cutting Of His Staff, Mrs Ugochi Okoroafor Fredrick.
“All work and no play, makes workers lazy and less productive”. It was a day, celebrated of the birth of one of his staffers, Mrs Ugochi Fredrick. The birthday been February 6th, falling into the weekends, the cutting of the cake in the presence of colleagues was necessary to be on this day, Friday the 5th, in the month of February.
The Chief whip of the 9th Senate wished her longer life with the prayers of success in all her endeavors.
Present at this cake cutting are;the former Chief of staff to Abia state government Hon Mascot Kalu, Mr Fredrick Frank Uchechukwu (Husband to celebrant) the program manager OUK Foundation Mr Iheaka Iheaka and other staffers of the Most Distinguish Senator.

SENATE CHIEF WHIP HONOURED ARARUME’S INVITATION.
Represented by the Director General, OUK Movement, Rev. Mrs Jemima Ola Kalu, the Chief whip of the 9th Senate’s presence was felt at the traditional marriage ceremony of the daughter of Senator Ifeanyi Ararume at Isiala Mbano in Imo State, in the company of over 40 members of the OUK movement.
This ceremony attracted the presence of dignitaries among whom were, the former Governor of Imo State and Senator, Owelle Rochas Okorocha ,HE Ikedi Ohakim. Others included the Media aide to OUK, Hon Maduka Okoro, the State Secretary, OUK Movement Mrs Uzoma Emezue, the State Organizing Sec., State Assistant Youth Leader, Zonal Officers and LG Officers of OUK Movement.

The Thanksgiving of God’s greatness in the life of Sen. Nkechi Nwaogu, held at the Diocese of Abuja (Anglican Communion) Basilica of Grace, Gudu, Abuja had the presence of the Chief whip of the 9th Senate, having his Wife Her Excellency Mrs Ifeoma Kalu and daughter Miss Nicole Uzor Kalu’s representation.
