Breaking: 2Baba’s to be Investigated In Rivers DPO Case
Gift Okpara, widely recognized as 2Baba and identified as the leader of the Icelandic cult gang, currently wanted by the police, has been urged to step forward and establish his innocence in connection to the murder of Superintendent of Police, SP Bako Angbashim, the former DPO of Ahoada Police Division in Rivers State’s Odumuedie community.
In response to a voice note where the prime suspect denied involvement in the DPO’s death, the spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, released a statement on Wednesday.
Iringe-Koko emphasized that, as per the principle of justice, Gift David Okpara is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The statement by Iringe Koko clarified, “The Rivers State Police Command has taken note of a recent radio announcement in which Gift David Okpara, also known as 2Baba, a notorious cultist and murder suspect wanted in connection with the killing of Superintendent of Police, SP Bako Angbashim, former DPO of Ahoada Police Division in Rivers State, denied his involvement in the tragic incident.
While the police acknowledge the denial made by Gift David, it is important to emphasize that the principle of justice demands a fair hearing for all parties involved.
The police understand the importance of listening to the other party, and it is crucial to note that everyone is considered innocent until proven otherwise.”
the statement urged Gift David Okpara to present himself to the authorities, providing an opportunity to furnish evidence supporting his claims of innocence.
The police remain committed to upholding due process principles and are open to receiving any information contributing to the ongoing investigation.
Cooperation with law enforcement from Gift David Okpara is deemed imperative for a thorough and transparent resolution to this serious matter.
