A group of teaming youths in Abia state, believed to have ardently supported Peter Obi, but are of different political parties, have faulted the said coming of Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate Of the Labor Party (LP), to Abia state, to build support for Alex Oti, the governorship candidate in the state.
In a communique made available to the press, the youths have asked Peter Obi, to allow them vote for the candidate of their choice, as they bear the pains infested on them, through the connivance of some of Abia state politicians that are in the poll, for they have contributed to the failure of Abia state economic and infrastructural predicaments.
In this release, the group of teaming youths, ObiDatti For President, Abia state, through their secretary, issued that Peter Obi Should stay away from the governorship election of Abia state. They also stated that his coming would amount to the integrity jeopardy of the governorship election.
The statements reads.
We want to at this point, draw to the attention of Mr Peter Obi, that we are still in the shock and upset of the just concluded presidential election.
In other to be fair to all, at a time like this, knowing that you gained the support of all, drawn from different political parties, it will be fair enough for you to allow Abians, make their choices on who they deemed fit to run the affairs of Abia State.
Sir, in a quick reminder, you had no big political wings around you, before you made this indelible mark of a history in Nigeria. The people saw your antecedence and keyed into you for a hope. Having this public humane attribute, we call on you not to allow any Abia State politician use you as an instrument to claim popularity in this Saturday’s governorship election.
We want to be able to elect a governor that will emerge out of his integrity, which you proved to us and we believed.
You told us that you will stand for justice, know this today that there will be no justice for Abia State, if any politician intend to use your integrity as a tool, against your own people.
Our declarations are genuine, as we continue to stand by you even till the court’s declaration, we want you to stand by us, in this trial time, that we are set to change the tides of the political system of Abia State for the better.
We are Abia state ObiDatti teaming youths, cut across political parties. Without our collective efforts, Labor Party (LP) would not have had the votes pumped out from Abia State, in the Just concluded elections.
May we on this note, also remind you Sir, Mr Peter Obi, that we had some polling units all around the southeast, where you won, but other parties in those same polling units you won, also delivered their candidates from other political parties.
We want to plead, not to let an individual, be sole beneficiary to this epic history made in your name, through the efforts of collective Abians.
We may not be able to stop your said coming, to Abia State, but be rest assured that ‘an injury to one, should be an injury to all’.
We wish the ObiDatti team the success deserved at the court of competent jurisdiction, as you yield to our concerns.
