The general overseer of Thy Kingdom Come Ministry, has warned Nigerians not to be derailed by the misleading waves of politicians, in the coming elections that could deplete further, the Nation.
Speaking in a sermon of the first Sunday of the month of October, in a thanksgiving prophetic service, to mark the 2022 Independence Day celebration, Prophet Jeremiah Obilo , said that 2023 is ordained by God to rescue Nigeria. According to him, the misconceptions and youthful exorbitant exhibitions, would not play a better role in finding the right person, to lead the nation in the right direction.
He encouraged his congregation to look beyond sympathy, religion, ethnic and any other type of sentimental distractions and focus on competence, as they make their choice in the 2023 presidential election. Preaching, while in a prayer mood, he called on God, as he proclaimed,
“God of Elijah, David, Abraham, Moses and the God of the wisdom of Solomon. Where shall we run to, if not thee? Our nation is about to embark on a journey of searching for leaders. You alone make Kings, come and make for Nigeria a president that will lead us according to your wisdom”.
He called on the congregation to pray against misleading spirits that are set to mislead Nigerians ahead of the elections as he said,
“Who among them does the cap fits? Is it the one they said is an old man? Is it the privatisation Vice President, his Oga said ‘he regretted working with’? Or is it the one that is said to have betrayed a covenant with God and the people? If one can break covenant with God, then, who are we, the people?”
He called on the congratulations to look beyond sentiments as he further said, “the one they call an old man, has nothing to lose, he is old enough to write his name on Nigeria’s golden history if he becomes the president, but they said he’s old, God knows the 2023 Nigerian President, even before the elections”.
He went on to say, that churches should not get involved in the 2023 elections because they feel neglected, he said the church should rather see beyond religious and ethnic sentiments and not to make the mistake of perpetual regrets as he continued,
“Yes, the churches are getting more involved in this 2023 election. But, does it mean we should get involved because of religious or ethnic sentiments? The interest of the nation supersedes ethnic nor religious sentiments. What we should be looking at is the competence of those on the ballots, what have they achieved in their various offices in the past , especially that, which relates to the economic situations the nation is facing today”.
He called on the government to ensure the safety of Nigerians during the campaigns and the election days, saying that the will of God, through the people, can not be showcased, if there are security threats that can disenfranchise Nigerians, their votes or that could prevent them from performing their cilvic responsibilities, saying.
“The government of President Muhammadu Buhari, should show Nigerians the readiness to ensure a free, fair, credible and safe elections in 2023. Can the people perform their cilvic responsibilities when security threats log around? Since INEC has assured us of a free fair and credible elections, President Buhari should compliment their efforts by ensuring the lives of INEC staff and the voters are safe. This is only when the election can be said to be free, fair and credible to the glory of God”. He noted.
