
In a strong affirmation of China’s commitment to global education and human capital development , former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial zone, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has applauded President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China
He said the growing number of Nigerian students in China and Nigerian’s engagement in international capacity-building programs sponsored by Chinese government is a vote of confidence by Chinese government on Nigerians
Reacting during appreciation visit by selected members of his constituency who came to appreciate him for the academic and social skills opportunities in China extended to members of his constituents and beyond, Kalu said his partnerships with the Chinese government has helped him to give Nigerians an opportunity to build stronger capacity for brighter future.
He thanked the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai for his efforts in deepening the Nigeria-China relationship and promoting win-win situation for both countries.
He said President Xi Jinping through Ambassador Yu Dunhai has shown priority and deep friendship with Nigeria as they continue to sponsor programs that make room for Increased collaboration and productivity.
The international business mogul praised the Chinese initiative as a “bridge to national transformation ,” emphasizing its long-term impact on Nigeria
“These programs and scholarships represent more than academic training —they symbolize innovation and creativity , leadership, hope, and the power of partnership,” He said. “Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation students will return prepared to strengthen Nigeria through global knowledge.”
Senator Kalu through the Chinese government has facilitated foreign training to several number of Nigerians especially Abia North constituents.
The latest batch (5th batch) of the trainees left Nigeria on September 16 and are expected to arrive Beijing on September 17.
It would be recalled that the academic batch ( 4th Batch) left Nigeria on September 1st and are already settled in China with serious engagements in their academics.
