The Old Bende Progressive Union, led by Chairman, contact and mobilization, Chief Jerry Kalu (Oshimmiri), paid a courtesy visit to Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, PhD, former Deputy Governor of Abia State. This move underscores their commitment to ensuring no one from Old Bende contests against Gov. Alex Otti, as resolved during their recent leadership meeting at Hon. Alex Ikwechegh’s residence.During the meeting, Chief Kalu encouraged the former Deputy Governor to consider joining Gov. Otti’s party, citing the state’s best interests. He commended the former Deputy Governor for publicly supporting the Governor despite being in an opposition party and invited him to bring his wealth of experience to the Governor’s team.
Chief Etum Okereke, a stakeholder from Ohafia, echoed Chief Kalu’s sentiments, stressing that this call comes from friends and leaders of the Old Bende Zone. The Union reaffirmed its dedication to supporting Gov. Otti’s second term, with leaders from across the Old Bende Zone in attendance, showcasing a united front.
