Abia North Peace Foundation, a socio-political group, has applauded Christian leaders and churches across Abia State for their support of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, describing the relationship between the Senator and the church as one built on mutual respect, service, and shared values.
Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu commended prominent clerics across the state for their courage in “speaking truth to power” and promoting unity in the zone.
He noted that the church has remained a strong pillar for peace, and their support for Senator Kalu reflects a shared vision for development and harmony in Abia North.
“We want to sincerely thank our revered men of God for standing boldly for truth and justice,” Chief Ukaegbu said.
“Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has always stood with the church, even from his days as governor. He built churches, supported mission schools, awarded scholarship, promoted religious harmony, and ensured that religious institutions had a voice in governance.
“Today, as a Senator, he continues to partner with the church to promote peace and prosperity across our communities.”
Chief Ukaegbu further highlighted some of Senator Kalu’s achievements, including the construction of over 100 rural roads in Abia North, distribution of educational materials to schools, the provision of solar-powered streetlights, and the recent empowerment of farmers with fertilizers and agro-chemicals.
He also cited Kalu’s successful sponsorship of numerous Abia North students on international scholarships and his consistent outreach to the less privileged.
“The Senator’s commitment to both infrastructural and human capital development is clear for all to see. We urge the church to continue to pray for him and for lasting peace in Abia State,” Ukaegbu added.
The Foundation reiterated its commitment to promoting dialogue and peacebuilding across the state, calling on all stakeholders to work together in the spirit of unity, especially ahead of future political engagements.
