A learned gentlemen from the Southeast have reprimanded the statements made by Mao Arukwe Ohuabunwa on channel tv ‘politics today’ program, where he said that Orji Kalu does not have the integrity to lead the Senate in the capacity of the senate President.
In the information gained through an interactions via calls, Barr. Igwe Samuel, faulted Senator Mao Arukwe Ohuabunwa statement in strong terms, noting that the outcome of the election had left him with mental delusions while emphasising that MAO should seek medical attention.
Barr. Igwe who said that MAO does not expect to eat his cake and still have it, said that the outcome of the senatorial election that returned Sen Orji Uzor Kalu as elected was a statement made by the good people of Abia north, due to the workaholic nature of Dr Orji Kalu, who in his first term as a Senator had shown all working by attracting dividends of democracy to Abia North.
He said “am very surprised to hear MAO speak on channels tv. I think the pains of loosing the just concluded election eroded his mental capacity to believe that Sen. Orji Kalu is not capable to be Senate President.
“We understood MAO clearly, he was in the National Assembly for several years without the recognition by his colleagues to make him a principal officer in all the years he jeopardised our mandate. ‘He can’t eat his cake and expect to still have it’.
“When Orji Kalu was elected in 2019, MAO, also said Kalu, can not get any portfolio in the Senate. I remembered he also said that he would challenge Kalu in court but as God could have it, Orji Uzor Kalu is not only finishing his four years at the Senate, he was made the Chief Whip of the 9th Senate to the amazement of MAO.
“When you talk of integrity, capacity, credibility, character and ability, Orji Kalu had not been wanting. The mark of Kalu’s success, be it business, politics and relationship with people are all centred on his capacity and integrity.
“What does it take to be senate president? We understand you must first be elected by your people, you must be a ranking Senator to enable you have the experience needed to pilot the affairs of the Senate. What other qualifications are needed that Orji Kalu does not have?
“You can see that MAO goofed in his interview with channels to say that ‘I’ll feel terrible because I don’t believe he’s (Orji Kalu) competent to represent the Senate’. I think MAO does not even know what it takes to be the Senate President just like he never knew what to do to bring the kind of development Orji Kalu brought to us in just four years. MAO has no political say nor relevance left with him.
“Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, is a man with lots of experience. He has that carriage, capacity and all other requisites needed to be the Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.
“The nation needs to be united again and we have strong believe that the President- elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s healing process will reinstate the unity of the nation that had not been this divided in the past.
“MAO should know that his political time had long gone as the people of Abia North are experiencing a new dawn in the transformation made so far in the District. This transformation is what glued the people of Abia North with Orji Kalu that led to his re-election, and we’re proud we re-elected him and by God’s grace, he will be the next Senate President of the incoming administration”. He said.
