A group from the South East has berated the presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi, Over using academic background to woe Nigerians to vote him in the 2023 presidential elections.
Speaking to newsmen at the end of a political meetings held in respect of Tinubu in Abia State, the leader of the group, Bernard Francis told reporters that the election in 2023 is beyond academic qualifications.
Bernard, who spoke on behalf of the group, South East Youths for Tinubu 2023, said that the history of Nigeria had produced most qualified academicians as president and with such high profile academicians, the country is yet to have a balance nor solve the numerous issues bordering the nation.
Bernard, who was made the Chairman of the South East for Tinubu said that various appointments, given by previous and present Nigeria presidents are handled by qualified graduates, master degree holders, professors and PhD holders. He said that some are even professionals yet, the nation remained in squalor as he said,
“ We’re coming together today to declare our total support for Tinubu from the south East ahead of the 2023 presidential elections. Haven studied the candidates of all the political parties , we have come to a conclusion that Ahmed Bola Tinubu is the most qualified to run the affairs of the nation after President Buhari’s administration.
“We’re concerned with how the nation can evolve from this life threatening insecurity that has dispossessed local productivities and is dragging the nation’s economy and moralities to the dust.
“Our choice of Tinubu for 2023 connotes with the antecedence of all that made themselves available to serve ahead of the 2023 presidential elections as candidates in various party. Among these qualified Nigerians, Tinubu’s past records overrides all other candidates as stated .
“Tinubu’s working experience in Lagos is second to none in all the states of Nigeria. Since 1999, Bola Tinubu had shown his economic rascality by stabilizing Lagos, creating jobs for Lagosians that resulted to multiple migration of Nigerians to Lagos in search of greener pastures. The congestion of Lagos today is as a result of the flourishing economic relevance of Lagos state.
“Though we are determined to make the 2023 elections roll in an issue based campaign, to rubbish any candidates in the 2023 presidential election just like the Presidential candidates of the Labor Party Peter Obi, is in his shenanigans, challenging other candidates to publish their certificates, can not in anyway help anyone win elections in the coming 2023 elections.
“Educational qualification is good and very necessary for a growing nation. In developed countries, academicians practice and make valuable the efforts of their education, as they transmit their knowledge into building a nation. Here in Nigeria, the academicians are even the worst. Their believe is how to use their education qualifications to coin to themselves wealths, thereby neglecting their rules of engagement with the public.
“Most of our leaders and those on appointments by the president are qualified graduates, masters degree holders, professors, PhD holders and many are professionals in their disciplines, what had been the outcome of such qualifications to say, ‘who education help, in the nation’s economic and insecurity challenges?’
“We want to let Nigerians know today that our constitution had reasons to have pegged school living certificate as the basics, for contesting an elective position and if a secondary school dropout can turn the nation around, we have in our obligations to vote such persons, for the betterment of Nigeria.
“If education background is per ultimate, Mr Peter Obi, would had as the then governor of Anambra state made Anambra look like Lagos and make living standards encouraging for Nigerians to migrate to Onitcha like they migrated and still migrates to Lagos till date.
“The country in the hands of Peter Obi would be sacrificing the future of the nation in the alter of mediocrity. Nigeria can not afford to trust any president that is expecting sympathy votes.
“We see some candidates jumping from one country to another, deceiving Nigerians of making tours to find solutions. What solutions? Is Anambra the best state in Nigeria, for Nigerians to believe Peter Obi would be the savior that Nigerians crave for?
“He went to Egypt, he said he went to learn how the Egyptians solved their light issues, why did he as a governor, not travel to find solutions to the light issues that had affected onitcha Main markets and those industries struggling in Anambra to meet up with cost of production, did the law exempt executive governors from finding solutions to power supplies?
“We’ve often maintained that Nigerians are wiser now, we can no longer be deceived by politicians. What we want is the best for the country in 2023 and the very best ever this nation had produced since this democracy are in the 1999. Only of resent can we say the likes of Umahi, Nyesom Wike and hand pick of other governors that could compete with the governors in 1999.
“Age are just numbers, though each of these numbers grow with experiences and Ahmed Bola Tinubu has that experience and can with the sharp brains around him, retrieve our nation and set our economic values to compete with that of the world.
“We, the members of South East Youths For Tinubu 2023 want to today, state categorically that Tinubu remain the choice of the South South and the South East and we will mobilize and vote him for a rescue in the 2023 presidential election”.
